Campaigns you can join

Stop Cooking the Planet (SPEC)

We are looking for help with a public activity set for Thursday, March 15 at 7:30 am until 9 at Broadway/Commercial SkyTrain Station. We will be serving a free breakfast to transit users (to reward good behaviour!) and asking folks to sign our petition. We will serve vegetarian food only so everyone can be included.
We need help with cooking, serving, doing dishes and handing out leaflets/getting petitions signed.

Burnaby Outreach (SPEC)

This month we are returning to neighborhoods in Burnaby to talk to residents about the impacts that freeway expansion will have on their community and asking them to take action for a better way. So far, hundreds of Burnaby residents have signed our petition and 25% of those folks want to stay active in the campaign. Ndonodji and Blane have stepped forward to coordinate this project and we need you to get out there with them. We need you to volunteer 1,2,3 or more weekend afternoons in the month of March to go door-to-door to deliver an info pamphlet and ask people to sign a petition and contact their MLA. You will meet up with the coordinators on a Saturday and/or Sunday at a prearranged location from 12:30 until 4pm- lunch is on us. Don't worry if you haven't done this kind of thing before, it is easy to do, you will be with a group of people and you will be well supported.

The Have a Heart Premier Campbell! campaign of February was a tremendous success. Over 2000 Completed letters were delivered to Premier Campbell on February 14, 2007. Great Job! The premier is showing signs of heightened interest and concern.
